On 8/16/18 60 lucky gymnastics fans in Boston attended the 2018 U.S. Gymnastic Championships through the ACE Embrace ticket donation program. We partnered with two of our charities of choice, Dana-Farber Pediatric Patient and Family Units and Boston Centers for Youth and Families, to send fans to the national championships for men’s and women’s gymnastics, at Boston’s TD Garden as part of the 2018 Team USA Summer Champions Series. The champion series showcases numerous Olympic sports throughout the season and the athletes quest , to compete at the 2020 Olympic Games.
The winners of the days male gymnastics event will now represent the United States at the Summer Youth OlympicGames in Buenos Aires 2018 in Argentina in October. Two-time Olympian Sam Mikulak of Newport Coast, California took home his fifth senior men’s all-around title. He became the first man to win five all-around titles since Blaine Wilson in 2000. The U.S. Gymnastics Championships first began in 1897 for men and 1931 for women. Ten years ago in 2008 Boston hosted the U.S. Women’s Gymnastics Championships and 2018 marks the event’s debut at the TD Garden and the first time Boston has staged the national championships for the sport for both women and men. Boston was also the venue for the 1996 and 2000 U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Team Trials and many post-Olympic gymnastic touring events.
